Join us for a guided session — with chai, of course — where you will begin your journey in stitching a phulkari, share stories and connect with our heritage rooted in this vibrant Punjabi art.
All materials are provided, and you’ll take home your own piece to keep — along with your own pack to continue stitching and finish at home.
Indian art and culture has always evolved — some parts carried on burdened backs, others changed or forgotten. Through migration, many of us lost spaces to practice our own art, many traditions went unpractised.
That’s why, for the first time in Birmingham, we’re running a Phulkari embroidery workshop 🌸. We’re offering two workshops on the same day, so you can choose the time that works best for you.
This workshop is on Saturday 18 October from 10am to 11.15am. Please note that tickets are £30. This includes the venue, all your materials, and chai to enjoy while we stitch together. All proceeds from this workshop will be donated to Khalsa Aid to help rebuild and restore Punjab after the floods.
