sikhi set - Gurpurab 2025 embroidery set

£20.00

A Gurpurab piece fitting for the year we have had. Punjab flooded. The water did not care for label. Whether Sikh, Muslim, Hindu, the water entered homes, drowned fields, and reminded us that the earth sees no difference in us. The far right do not care for our labels either - they only see the colour of our skin, not the humanity. This piece is a reflection on the Shabad revealed by Guru Nanak Dev Ji — a reminder to set aside ego, and choose humanity. The path may not be easy - it was never designed to be.

This embroidery set is more than something to stitch — it’s a new, peaceful way to celebrate our festivals.

Our homes are easy to decorate for western holidays, while our own go unnoticed. For our festivals, we are left with little that truly reflects us.

This piece was created to change that — to celebrate Sikhi beyond food and deevay, and through craft, reflection, and the act of creating something with our own hands.

The picture shown is of my own stitched sample, created to give you an idea of the style and how this gurpurab design might look once completed.
